I
would like to introduce myself. I
am one of a few Accredited Art Appraisers in US.
It is hard staying current with all the
continuing education requirements, but we try. Employed as you are in
the Art Industry, I am sure you occasionally have need of a Fine Arts
Appraiser. You probably trip over the need to have Fine Arts appraised
many times a year, with various clients. Possibly, they come to you for
advice when faced with a Divorce Action, Financial & Estate Planning or
Probate Settlement with the folks. Occasionally, the need arises even in
Bankruptcy cases.
Ideally, I would like to
come by and visit with you to present my credentials personally.
You are much more likely to use me
professionally if you have met me. I simply do not know when I'll
next be in your area. But, I will definitely come by when I
am.
Barring that, and since I have worked with many Galleries all over
the eleven western States for 12 years and in my other location,
Anchorage, Alaska, I was hoping to keep in touch by e-mail and
snail mail. Or, You may use the form below,
and check off the items you would like to have mailed to you
directly:
1) Business cards & brochures for Art Appraisal, only
2) Business cards, brochures, & my latest book, your desk copy,
which includes information. (No charge) TO NEED OR NOT TO NEED
an appraisal; chapter #8 of Well Hung Art,
the book.
3)The Book review by a major
periodical in the Art Industry: InformArt.
4) Several Books to
have on hand for clients, plus all of the above.
(6 books is the norm for Galleries and gives you a wholesale
price @ $6.75 ea.) They will arrive
with an attractive book stand { or not } which sits handsomely
on any desk or shelf. ($10.00; Deep Red Metal
filigree electroplated so as not to chip, ever)
You may, of
course, phone my office, (number listed below) but the easiest way
is on line, fill out the form below,
indicating only the materials you would like mailed to you. We
will be adding freight to your part of the country. sorry,
otherwise it becomes prohibitive. Include your phone #, and I'll
call first with total charges to make you a little more
comfortable. Also, I usually use Fed Ex ground, or media rate at
the USPS which is less than a $1.00 per pound
Or ~~~ we can wait until your Gallery sends me your first Art
Appraisal referral, and I will plan on meeting with you and your
client in your location, at that time. Or, I can go directly to
the Clients residence at his/her convenience, to view the Fine
Arts. We bill through the referring Gallery and do reimburse a 10%
finders fee. This is not altruism. I want to make sure I
appreciate you financially. That is the very best way to get a
following referral.
Additionally, the first hour is free, generally by phone. I will
chat forever with your client to make sure they & I both agree
there is actually a need for an Appraisal before I suggest
spending their money. We charge $75.00 per hour, minimum of three
hours, plus Travel expenses. I am usually able to piggy back two
or three cases together to minimize the Travel Expense per
individual case, when leaving any area near my several offices.
May I thank you in advance for your kind consideration of my
petition for your business? I know I can be helpful to you. I am
quite at ease working with Galleries as I have done so for the
past 12 years. I understand your clients' requirements for
absolute privacy. Formerly, I was a financial planner for 18
years. privacy requirements in that field stagger the imagination.
